Commercially released almost two years ago, the stock Android-based Pixel 2 and 2 XL were kept around after the introduction of the Pixel 3 and 3 XL last fall, but in anticipation of the mid-range Pixel 3a and 3a XL, the classic 5/6-inch duo was officially discontinued by Google a few months back. That wasn't necessarily bad news for bargain hunters in love with the purest form of the search giant's industry-leading operating system, but following several killer deals and massive discounts, Verizon and Best Buy also pulled the plug.

Still, if the Pixel 3a and 3a XL are too rich ...
